NRPF Network job vacancy

26 September 2018

Opportunity for a talented person to join a dynamic local authority based service

We are looking for one person to join our small team to develop our services relating to looked after migrant children and care leavers.

Since 2006, the NRPF Network, hosted by Islington Council, has been promoting good practice across the UK in the field of social services’ support for destitute migrants with no recourse to public funds. We are pleased to be able to offer a post funded by the Controlling Migration Fund and the Department for Education to develop services for practitioners working with migrant children – including Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children– and care leavers.

We are looking for someone with the skills and knowledge to lead in a complex and often misunderstood area of local authority practice, and who will be required to work tenaciously to build best practice responses through guidance, training and policy work. The post holder will promote the NRPF Network’s aim of helping local authorities to achieve sustainable outcomes for looked after migrant children, including those who are leaving the care system, in order to comply with corporate parenting duties. A thorough grasp of social service’s statutory responsibilities and related immigration law is essential.
